As a small consulting firm we didn’t have much in terms of existing infrastructure or practices. Going through a period of rapid growth we faced a lot of challenges in figuring out what DevOps means to us.
This talk is the case study of the journey of implementing DevOps practices at Shore Consulting Group. As our journey started without much in terms of experience we faced a lot of challenges.
We had to figure out the how to work with a tiny budget. We also had to build a company culture where dev and ops were not separate, even though we did not manage operations for most of our clients. To top it all, we are a Microsoft shop.
I am hoping that the lessons we learned are useful for similar smaller organizations; perhaps even teams within larger ones. If not, this would at least be a laundry list of what not to do!
