The Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation, in partnership with Ryerson University, is accepting applicants for its fifth cohort. The Joe Fresh Centre is searching for emerging Canadian entrepreneurs with fashion-inspired businesses to support and develop into the next generation of fashion leaders. The 18-month acceleration program provides a 360-degree approach to mentorship that will best position emerging entrepreneurs for real world success.

Innovators chosen to participate in the program will receive:

●      Access to collective startup funding up to $50,000 at the end of the program

●      Mentorship with Joe Fresh executives, Ryerson academics and industry advisors

●      Networking opportunities with Ryerson Futures, DMZ and Fashion Zone companies

●      Access to the DMZ and Fashion Zone at Ryerson University

●      Eligible marketing and promotion expenses up to $5,000 per innovator

●      Academic Zone Learning credit from Ryerson University following completion of the program

●      Unique showcasing opportunities

●      Dedicated office space in The Joe Fresh Centre

The Centre is open to all Canadian individuals and businesses, excluding Quebec. To apply, startup companies must meet the below criteria:

  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident

  • At least the age of majority in the applicant’s province of residence

  • Hold a Canadian business registration number (or in the application process)

  • Have a business plan and/or prototype for the business

  • Submit a personal and professional reference

  • Complete the online application and submit a 2-minute video

Application window: June 15, 2017 – July 27, 2017

Notification of acceptance:  September 18, 2017

Program duration: October 2, 2017 – March 30, 2019
