Held three times a year, the Velocity Fund awards $375,000 in equity-free funding to startups to help remove some of the barriers to building a business. Numerous applications for the $25K competition were submitted by University of Waterloo students and recent alumni, and these finalists were selected after an intensive interview that assessed problem, solution, market, traction, and team fit.

Each participant at the Velocity Fund Finals will have 3 minutes to pitch their solution to a real-world problem to a panel of judges from the local investor community, and a packed audience of their peers in the Student Life Centre (SLC) at the University of Waterloo.
