Each participant at the Velocity Fund Finals will have 3 minutes to pitch their solution to a real-world problem to a panel of judges from the investor community, and a packed audience of their peers in the Student Life Centre (SLC) at the University of Waterloo. Four innovative companies will each receive $25,000, as well as $5,000 in intellectual property legal services from PCK to enable their development.

Using artificial intelligence to unlock the potential of spectral imaging, Elucid Labs is delivering a ‘tricorder’ for the skin, capable of real-time detection and diagnosis of any skin condition, disease, or cancer.
EMAGIN leverages artificial intelligence to help water utilities proactively manage their infrastructure in real-time.
Using cutting-edge web app technology, Gamelynx creates games and interactive experiences that bring people together for face-to-face play. Gamelynx combines the fun and social interaction of party and board games, with the convenience and power of mobile web gaming.
LabsCubed enables companies to create new and innovative materials through enhanced testing methods.
Marlena Books creates therapeutic recreation products for individuals with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Specializing in hardcopy books that make reading enjoyable and dignifying, Marlena Books is expanding into the tech space with e-books and a recreation app for individuals with more advanced dementia.
