Tips for Content Submission

  • Photo Quality

    • Use photos that are clear, well lit, clean, visually interesting, and have a more in-depth story behind them are key.
  • Context

    • Be familiar with the Startup Here Toronto Brand and social channels.
    • Be aware by framing your story as part of the Toronto startup community.
    • Be Interesting by recognizing that copy shouldn’t be anything exclusively sales oriented. Focus more on the value your startup has to offer the world.
    • Be collaborative by highlight any connections you have within the local ecosystem. (incubators, funders, mentors, neighbours, etc — Be sure to tag them too!)
    • Be inclusive by Include copy that highlights unique aspects of your origin story and all of the individuals involved. (Your team, advisors or support system) 
  • Things to Avoid

    • Stock Photos.
    • Vague statements about company or product.
    • Content that isn’t interesting or that doesn’t contribute much value to the community at large.
    • Negative comments, venting or rants.
    • Content that may be considered NSFW
