Disruption has become the “new normal” in the workplace, and professionals in this changing landscape must prepare for the new economy. High-growth companies are leading the charge in redefining how to drive productivity, innovation and growth for their respective employees and sectors.
It’s no longer enough to simply keep up, top talent now must stay ahead — learning, questioning, and building mindsets for growth.
This October, join us at MaRS to learn from high-growth ventures and adopt their strategies for success. In this workshop, participants will work in small, cross-functional teams to map and frame challenges, apply leading design-thinking methods and present solutions to a panel of industry leaders.

gain exposure to new tools and frameworks for tackling challenges and staying ahead; and
collaborate with leading tech companies like Ritual and ecobee.
We believe that cross-functional teams are the future of work, so we’re looking for:
early and mid-career professionals that are curious about the MaRS ecosystem;
venture tech talent looking to level up their skill set and drive results; and
people from across business (sales, marketing, communications, strategy, etc.) and technical specializations (front end, UX, UI, web development, engineering, etc).
Breakdown of program
Participants will engage in three intensives spread across five days:
Day 1: Venture-Ready Mindsets 101 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.)
A full day presenting and practicing tools and frameworks used by the most successful startups. Problem statements will be presented to teams by a venture.
Day 2: Design Sprint Working Session (evening, 6–9 p.m.)
An evening session utilizing an agile framework to work through the problem statement. Teams will work towards their final pitch.
Day 3: Pitch Session (evening, 6–9 p.m.)
An evening session for teams to pitch their solutions to leaders from ventures and the MaRS ecosystem.
We will be running two sessions of this program:
Session 1: Oct. 13, 15 and 17 (or 18)
Session 2: Oct. 27, 29 and Nov. 1 (or 5)
Participants are required to attend all three days of their selected session. The pitches will occur on either October 17 or 18 for session 1, and Novemeber 1 or 5 for session 2. Please hold both dates.
