Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), a business law firm, announced that it has opened a new space in Kitchener-Waterloo at the Catalyst137 innovation hub. Blakes says the new office space will give it the opportunity to do business with more Canadian tech companies.

“The new space allows us to conveniently service our existing clients, and develop deeper roots in the community – keeping us on the cutting-edge of the tech scene. As the world’s largest Internet of Things (IoT) manufacturing space, Catalyst137 offers a great location for us to do this,” said Brett Slaney, Patent Agent and Partner at Blakes.

This news comes soon after the launch of Nitro powered by Blakes, a program that provides legal services for up-and-coming technology companies in the corridor. According to Blakes, the 1,000 square foot space at Catalyst137 will be used by Blakes lawyers, including those working as part of the Nitro program, for formal and informal meetings in the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
