The Canadian Innovation Exchange, which celebrates Canadian innovation and startups with an annual event, released its list of top 20 up-and-coming Canadian companies.

The organization said that it received “hundreds” of applications, and eligible companies had to have a functioning prototype of their product or business, and a “unique innovative digitally-based business idea that brings commercial or social value”.

The list includes Medella Health, which was recently recognized with a James Dyson Award,, which partnered with ATB Financial following the company’s shutdown of its P2P platform, and LEAGUE, which raised a $25 million Series A earlier this summer.
