Toronto-based ChefHero, which allows businesses to order wholesale restaurant supplies, has hired Ben Lucier as vice-president of operations.

Lucier was previously at Animoto in New York City, where he was responsible for driving customer success. Lucier has also launched the Canadian company Ting in the United States.

“Pioneering an entirely new marketplace is an exciting challenge,” said Lucier. “It’s especially inspiring when you have the power to make a measurable difference to someone’s business and the quality of their lives.”

At ChefHero, Lucier will be responsible for the company’s operations across North America. Specifically, he will focus on creating efficient experiences for external users and internal employees with a “one plan” approach.

In March, ChefHero hired Sean Hurley as its VP of marketing. Last week, the company also launched its first location in Chicago.
