Toronto-based ChefHero, which allows businesses to order wholesale restaurant supplies, has hired Sean Hurley as its VP of marketing.
Hurley has acted as a marketing lead at companies like Ting, Hover, Animoto, and Chefs Plate. Currently, Hurley is focused on building a core marketing team for ChefHero, including the curation of locally relatable content and hiring lead acquisition specialists. Hurley will be responsible for marketing the ordering service to Canadian and international markets.
“Our target users have up to now been ordering their restaurant supplies in a very archaic way. Many use pen and paper or leave midnight voicemails to suppliers as this was the only available option,” said Hurley. “What’s exciting about ChefHero is that there’s currently no other company like it in existence, which gives us the opportunity to fill a niche, and do it well.”
ChefHero currently has 60 employees appointed to sales, marketing, engineering, customer service, and operations, and wants to double the team by the end of 2018.
