HumberLaunch is a destination for entrepreneurial innovation, with a mission to turn innovative ideas into successful business ventures. Students, alumni and members of the community can take advantage of its services.

Earlier this year, James Taylor was one of ten winners of HumberLaunch’s annual LaunchPad competition. He was granted $2,000 to continue developing his start-up venture The Collectors Inc., an e-commerce/social media site for collectors.

“I was introduced to the most amazing mentor (Jackie Spicer) through HumberLaunch,” says Taylor. “She helped me rethink my concept, build a strong, sustainable brand, and continues to guide strategy.”

He also teamed with another HumberLaunch success story, Simplistics Inc., to build and develop the back end of the website.

On The Collectors Inc. users can buy, sell, trade, consign and showcase their collectibles as they would on sites like eBay or Kijiji, but listings are free and cater to an audience whose entire interest is focused on this sector.

“HumberLaunch and the connections I’ve made through it have been instrumental to the brand and its success,” says James.
