Young Entrepreneurs, Make Your Pitch is a high school entrepreneurship competition presented by Ontario Centres of Excellence and the Government of Ontario . The competition challenges students in Grades 9-12 to pitch their business ideas in a two-minute video that will be voted on by the public and expert judges.

Finalists will present their ideas in front of a judging panel in Toronto at Discovery for a chance to receive reserved entry into the Summer Company program.

Starting on March 26, videos will be sent to expert judges from across Ontario. Expert judges' scores, combined with the number of public votes, will determine the competition finalists. The online voting period closes on April 6 and the 20 finalists will be announced on April 12, 2018.

The finalists will then travel to Toronto for three days to attend OCE's Discovery conference and pitch their idea live to a judging panel.

Based on the live pitches, the judges will select six winners who will be presented with reserved entry into the Summer Company program along with an award suite to be announced.

The Summer Company program helps high school, college, and university students between 15 and 29 years of age get startup money to kick off new businesses as well as advice and mentorship from local business leaders. Reserved entry into the Summer Company program, includes:

  • Business plan development and consultation
  • Mentorship
  • An award of up to $3,000 to start a business

The submission period for all video entries closes on March 22, 2018. You can Make Your Pitch online at
