Angela has nearly 20 years of experience in business administration, event planning, marketing, and more. She spent a number of years with Hockey Canada and the Ontario Hockey League before diving into the nonprofit space at Live Different. Angela now lends her project management and communications services to The Upside Foundation, along with other clients including Elevate Tech Festival and Future Possibilities for Kids. As an entrepreneur herself, Angela brings this perspective to her work coordinating Upside’s event logistics and social media engagement.

Angela says, “There are so many things to love about working at Upside Foundation but my highlights are definitely the gifted people, the great culture and knowing it’s all for a greater purpose.”

Gabi FossGabrielle is a recent graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and has worked in a variety of startup, social impact and corporate environments, including an entrepreneurship camp, the Community Investments team at Teck Resources, the People Culture team at Freshii, and most recently, the Sustainability department of a forestry company in Laos. While holding these positions Gabi developed skills in business development and communications that she is enthusiastic to apply to her work with The Upside Foundation. Gabi will support Upside Member companies, ensuring that pledging to give back with Upside is an easy and highly rewarding experience. She is also leading marketing and communications, revitalizing Upside’s brand and messaging.

Gabi says, “I am thrilled to contribute to an entrepreneurial organization with direct positive social impacts, both through the equity pledges and the culture of philanthropy Upside is building into high-growth potential companies. It’s a privilege to be here!”

Jen Couldrey, Executive Director, says, “Now that Upside’s capacity has tripled, we are thrilled to be able to partner with hundreds more startups and community leaders to make an exponential impact for Canada.”
