The incubator has been recognized as the third-best incubator in the world and number one in North America by UBI Global.
DMZ executive director Abdullah Snobar sat down with Disruptors co-hosts Amber Kanwar and Bruce Croxon to talk about how the incubator supports its startups and how it became a leading incubator.
“Over the past years, we’ve been able to support more than 270 startups that have come through our doors, and those companies have been able to create more than 2,500 jobs and raised more than $280 million in funding,” said Snobar.
Co-host Bruce Croxon asked Snobar to clarify what it means to be the top incubator in North America. “[UBI] had over 850 applicants and 450 qualified. They look at 40 different metrics, everything from revenue to size of company to supports and services…” said Snobar. “Being number one in North America and being number three in the world allows us to speak about the importance of startups in our community and what we do for them to scale and grow. We’ve been able to provide incredible support for our entrepreneurs.”
