Community Innovation Lab (I-Lab), is a fast-growing non-profit organization based in Durham Region addressing the social and economic gaps in communities through innovation and entrepreneurship. Our mission is to inspire, catalyze, and advance the growth of underserved entrepreneurs. We are an incubator for enterprising ideas and an accelerator for promising ventures.

Our flagship entrepreneurship accelerators include:
1. The Refinery – the first gender-centric business accelerator for women entrepreneurs in the GTA. We are currently supporting 1335 women entrepreneurs at the mid-growth stage.
2. The Seniors Project for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (SPICE), a pilot entrepreneurship accelerator targeting the senior population (55+) experiencing early retirement and ageist employment challenges and who are exploring opportunities in business development. We are currently supporting 60 seniors with bootcamp training and resources to build a business.
3. The Co-iLab Hub - a 6000 sq ft hub providing co-working, event and social space for community members seeking resources, networks and programs to build new skills or grow a venture or project.
4. Between 2016-2019, the NEET Youth Incubator supported the development of 144 aspiring young entrepreneurs who were not in education, employment, or training across eight cities in Durham Region; 60% of participants were young females.
