Do you live online and love Toronto? Spend your summer using social media to showcase the best of your city, live from City Hall!

The Mayor’s Social Media Residency is a chance for a full-time student to hone their digital skills with a paid, two-month internship that will work out of the Mayor’s Office during the months of July and August. We want you to help us engage the public in what's happening at City Hall, Nathan Phillip's Square and events across Toronto.

Must have a proficiency with at least two of the following platforms

  • Twitter
  • Snapchat
  • Instagram
  • Facebook

To apply, send a resume and a cover letter to [email protected] with the subject line Social Media Residency telling us:

  1. Why you love social media
  2. What you would do with a social media residency at City Hall
  3. Providing at least two social media handles for Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook accounts.

The deadline for applications is June 6th, 2016.

A short list of candidates will be contacted for interviews and invited to participate in a three day challenge from June 10-12 demonstrating how they'd approach the social media residency.

The successful candidate will be chosen by a panel including:
