Through Global Give, the eBay Foundation challenges eBay employees to make their communities a better place—where entrepreneurs of all backgrounds are empowered to start and grow businesses, and to help create opportunity for all.

At Parkdale Centre, Women in Leadership is a program that focuses on providing accessible and inclusive leadership, business training and entrepreneurship skills to underrepresented women in the innovation sector. Participants have the opportunity to start a business. The full program is 12 weeks, where participants meet once a week, with an option to co-work throughout the week, access mentorship and become part of a supportive network.

Participants also work on building their professional digital presence and network, building confidence in entrepreneurship and navigating partnership conversations and negotiations.

Parkdale Centre will collaborate with eBay’s team on the program delivery, where eBay’s team will volunteer, provide mentorship and guest lecture throughout the duration of the 12 week program.

Upon completion of the program, participants have an opportunity to apply for microfinancing through the Parkdale Centre financing fund– powered by Alterna Savings, for up to $25,000 in financing to start their business.

Launched in the summer of 2018, Parkdale Centre for Innovation has been running events, workshops and programs supporting hundreds of professionals and entrepreneurs to start, grow, and take their projects and careers to the next level.

Applications are now open for the Parkdale Centre’s 3rd cohort of the Women in Leadership program. Attend an info session to learn more about the program, or apply today to join the October cohort.
