The City of Toronto and the Federal Government are working to make it easy for businesses to attend the world's largest tech conference, Web Summit.

The 2018 installment of Web Summit will be hosted in Lisbon, Portugal between November 5th and 8th. Welcoming over 70,000 people annually, it has an impressive alumnus of speakers, including global figures and tech giants like Kara Swisher (Recode), Garry Kasparov (Chess Grandmaster), Gillian Tans (Booking.com) and Andrew Ng (Coursera).

We’re looking for great Canadian-based companies to join the delegation. The value for local tech companies includes:

  • Connect with new customers and partners – Web Summit provides a platform for
connecting with over 70,000 potential customers and partners.
  • Meet potential investors – over 2,500 VCs and Angels attend Web Summit.
  • Interact with leading edge content – the latest trends and opportunities in tech are presented by the industry’s thought leaders.

The value of attending Web Summit is best summarized by two Canadian founders:

“My decision to participate in Web Summit in Lisbon was a highlight of my startup journey. I made it through all the heats of the pitch competitions to get to the final 3 and pitch in front of 15,000 people. I came in second overall. I met investors and insurance companies from across the globe and Jauntin is in a better position because of it.” – Rain Takahashi, Co-Founder of Jauntin – http://jauntin.com/

“One of our meetings at Web Summit led to a $3.1 million investment from a top European VC. This, coupled with the incredible connections we formed through invaluable face-to-face time with executives, founders and exhibitors made attending Web Summit a hugely strategic experience for our company.” – Roy Pereira, Founder of Zoom.ai – www.zoom.ai

Participating companies will get access to a number of exclusive opportunities, including insight on how best to hack Web Summit to realize your goals, networking sessions with other Canadian and global tech leaders, and, of course, access to Web Summit itself.
