The City of Toronto is holding three separate forums to help business owners understand how innovation and technology are transforming the economy and what resources are available to help organizations better navigate these changes.

Taking place on July 11th, 12th and 18th, these information and discussion sessions are designed to help small business owners leverage new innovations and technologies to conduct business more efficiently and grow their organizations.

The three information and discussion sessions that will be held are:

Councillor Michael Thompson, Chair of the City of Toronto Economic Development Committee, will be delivering the opening remarks at each of the sessions, introducing business owners to the concepts and ideas that will be discussed.

At the sessions, small business owners will hear several presentations, including:

  • Vision for a smarter city – not just the technology, but citizen engagement and well-being at its core, presented by Sidewalk Labs
  • Trending topics businesses should know about and how organizations are respondingData Science, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Cybersecurity, presented by IBM Canada
  • Not your traditional Library: Providing access to resources and services to help businesses and entrepreneurs navigate a changing digital landscape, presented by Toronto Public Library
  • Helping Main Street Go Digital, presented by Digital Main Street
  • Regional Innovation Centres as global platforms, presented by MaRS
